Finally, the United States Senate is going to accept Roland Burris and let him take a seat in the Senate, I am happy for him. To satisfy the Black Americans of Illinois who are crying that a black American should replace the vacant seat of a black American leaving it. That’s funny; I thought the Senate seat belongs to all the people of Illinois, and not to a specific race of people.    

Congressman Bobby Rush and the Congressional Black Caucus, who were the two loudest voices demanded for someone black replace President Elect Barack Hussein Obama senate seat, has help make a mockery out of the Illinois democratic system. Congressman Rush had called Senator Harry Reid prejudice for not accepting Roland Burris in the Senate House. But, aren’t Congressman Rush and the Congressional Black Caucus prejudice for requesting specifically, to have a black American being put in the Senate? Would Dr. Martin Luther King agree with the way Congressman Rush and the Congressional Black Caucus handled the replacing of senator set? “NO”

I am sure Roland Burris is a good man, and he wants to live his dream of being the Senator of Illinois, but he is being used by Governor Rod Blagjevich. Roland Burris is being used like Michael B. Nifong, former Durham County district attorney used the Duke Lacrosse team to gain support of the black community to further his personnel agenda of being re-elected Durham County district attorney.

Governor Blagjevich is searching for sympathy from the black community of Illinois and is hoping, by selecting a black American to replace the vacant senate seat, Congressman Rush and the Congressional Black Caucus would speak out on his behalf during his impeachment hearing and they would owe him a favor.

Blacks make up approximately 15% of the population in Illinois, and by Illinois being a mostly democrat/liberal state; it has a lot of people who will have a sympathetic heart for Governor Blagjevich, he will be able to run for another political position, or work in a high paying position somewhere in the future.  How will Governor Blagjevich be able to do what was previously mentioned? Governor Blagjevich will call in favors!
